A flint tanged arrowhead (length: 30.5mm; width: 17mm; thickness: 3.5mm; weight: 1.65g). A small crudely worked arrowhead with more extensive working down one edge. The head is rather uneven and tang is very small and fragile (length: 8mm; width: 6mm) and tapers down into a point. There is remains of the original core surface on one side. This arrowhead is clearly paralleld with those of the Sutton 'a' type which mainly occur in the Upper Thames region, Cotswolds and the Midlands (Stephen Greeen, 1980, page 119).

There is further scaled and intrusive retouch along the left side of the arrowhead towards the rear end. The right side retains an area of cortex which covers a single barb on the rear edge. This barb has short, scaled and low angle retouch on the reverse side. The underside of the arrowhead retains a bulbar scar which …

It is leaf shaped tapering to a flat base, probably the result of a break. The edges are worked down to the break, it is possible the base was rounded, as in Green's type 1A. ( Green 1980 fig 26)
