A complete chert blade of Late Mesolithic date (6300-4300 BC). The lithic is sub-triangular. The dorsal surface is convex and contains four predominant negative scars with corresponding arrises and evidence of hinged flake removal within the mesial portion. Both the proximal and distal ends have been abruptly blunted. There is a minor amount of semi-abrupt retouch along the distal left hand edge. The ventral surface is slightly concave with a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end. The chert is cream in colour. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary…

The dorsal surface is covered with granular retained cortex. All of the edges show semi- abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is concave with some scarring. The lithic retains some cortex on the dorsal surface and is therefore a secondary flake. The flint (chert) is a dark grey in colour with lighter inclusions throughout. The cortex is cream grey in colour. Dimensions: Length- 15.45mm, Width- 19.38mm, Thickness- 4.67mm, Weight- 1.5g

A flint blade probably dating to the Neolithic, c. 4000 to 2700 BC. The object is pentagonal in plan with two long parallel sides, a short side joining them at one end and at the opposite side a point. The dorsal side features two parallel faces. There is a possible break on the right when looking at the dorsal side and another break creating the short side. There is some very limited short, scaled retouch at a low angle. The flint is a dark greyish brown in colour. The object is 38.00 mm in length, 13.11 mm in width and 4.13 mm in thickness. The object weighs 2.6g.
