Sub-hexagonal shaped flint scraper. The flint is generally a mid-grey colour, however one face of the object is largely covered in a light cream cortex representing the original surface of the pebble. This face is quite irregular and one edge has also been struck producing two small facets where the cortex has been removed. There is no sign of retouch on this edge. The other side represents a large flake surface with a prominent bulb, a plain platform with hammer impact, and short, abrupt, scaled retouch on one of the opposing edges. A flint blade of prehistoric date, potentially dating to the late Neolithic period. The find appears to be a tertiary flake with no traces of cortex on the dorsal face. On the ventral face it is possible to identify the platform; a potential bulb scar and bulb, while a number of ripples can be seen running from the proximal to distal end. Looking at the ventral face, orientated with the distal top and proximal bottom, it is apparent that the blade bears evidence of working along the left edge, while the opposing right edge may show evidence of a more recent break.

A flint flake. A probable secondary flake with large platform and evidence of cortex in two distinct areas. The flake has evidence of retouching on both the dorsal and ventral faces with ripples and bulb scars visible. The right-hand side leading edge (as looking at the flake from the ventral face) looks to also have evidence of retouch. Suggested date: Mesolithic to Neolithic.
