Flint tool probably dating to the Bronze age, (2150BC-800BC). It is poorly made but has been retouched slightly on one face. It is probably a river gravel pebble from the local area rather than imported. The main colour is a rich brown, and the narrowed point is grey. There is a small area of cortex remaining. The use is uncertain.

A chert Beaker Period to Middle Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowhead, dating to c. 2400 - 1000 BC. The arrowhead is formed from a tertiary flake of light greyish white, opaque chert. It is triangular with two notches formed at the base to create the barbs and central tang. It has a lozenge-shaped cross-section. The arrowhead has been bi-facially worked with the removal of many small flakes to create its shape. The retouch is covering, scaled, low angled. The arrowhead appears to have not been finished; one face has not been fully retouched leaving a raised lump. The chert also ha…

Flint thumb nail scraper, made from a secondary flake, of probable Early Bronze Age date. Diffuse ripples and a wide butt suggest that a large, soft hammer was probably used. The majority of the dorsal face is covered with brown, chalky, cortex. The distal end shows semi-abrupt, long, parallel retouch. This retouch continues along the left edge, becoming shorter and abrupt. The flint is dark grey-brown in colour, with milky, blotched patination. Lithic implement, used for cutting or scraping. It is an irregular semi-circle with a protruding 'tang' at one end. Some retouching can be seen along some of the edges. It is made from a dark grey flint which has some white/cream patches in. Most likely from the Bronze Age period although it is hard to date single flint pieces when they are found out of context. Ron Cowell saw an image of this find and comments 'It could be that this is a natural fractured pebble that is fortuitously shaped, which has been picked up and lightly retouched around the curved edge to provide a s…

A patinated flint object, probably a flake or blade core with cortex covering part of one face and extensive plough damage on all surfaces. It has irregular flake scars on both faces and measures 74.76mm in length, 65.70mm in width, 32.25mm in thickness, and 167.23g in weight. The precise function of this object remains uncertain, however it is possibly a core for flake or blade production and may perhaps date to the Bronze Age.

A distal fragment of a knapped and pressure flaked knife likely dating to the Early Bronze age. The flake is made from a distal portion of a cortical flake of semi translucent unpatinated grey flint. The dorsal surface bears patches of cortex and invasive pressure flaking removal scars. The ventral surface blade edges have also been retouched to form the point and even, carefully shaped sides. The knife has a transverse diagonal break at the proximal end. The invasive pressure flaked retouch suggests an early bronze-age date. The cross section of the blade is plano-convex, suggesting …

A flint tool of the Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age. The tool consists of a long (56mm) flake with retouch along two edges and no remaining cortex. The flint is patinated, dark brown in colour and some damage, probably occurring after burial, is noticeable at the edges. Tools of this form are usually classified as scrapers, though this may also have been used as a knife. Similar examples may be found on this database, for example BERK-B1AF16.
