A piece of Neolithic debitage, possibly indicating blade production dating to, c. 4000-2400 BC. The object is worked from a tertiary flake of light grey flint with occasional medium grey patches. The flake is sub-triangular in plan and sub-triangular to trapezoidal in cross section.  At least four negative removal scars are present on the dorsal face, some running in a linear fashion parallel to each other. The ventral face is almost perfectly flat. The longest side of the triangle has possible retouch, suggesting it may have been used as a scraping …

A piece of flint debitage probably from Neolithic Blade production dating to, c. 4000-2400 BC. The scraper is worked from a tertiary flake of speckled white flint with light grey splotches occasional orange discolouration and light brown section around its edges. It has a semi-glossy patna. The flake is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross section. The striking platform survives as does a medium sized bulb of percussion from which conchoidal ripples emanate.  Two negative removal scars from the same direction are present on the dorsal face. Both blades retain their bulbs of percussion, platform and show radiating fracture lines. Several previous removals, suggestive of bladelet / microlith production (Mesolithic), are visible as flake scars. One piece of debitage retains 33% cortex, the other is a tertiary piece.

A flint knapping fragment. The flint has a patchy white, opaque patina and also shows signs of exposure to heat (areas have gone white with superficial cracks). The flint has been struck but there are no areas of retouch. There is an area of cortex present that covers approximately one third of the total surface.

A lithic object that appears at firast glance to be a tanged and barbed arrowhead of Late Neolithic / Early Bronze Age date (c. 2500-1800 BC), however on closer inspection this appears to be a flake, of probable Brone Age date, however without the attributes of a retouched arrowhead; either this is a beginnings of an arrowhead lost or discarded before completion or it is just a flake that resembles an arrowhead in plan.

A broadly leaf-shaped flint flake formed from a grey/blue flint with thick outer calcification. The flake has not been retouched and shows scars from previous removals on the dorsal surface only. The bulb of percussion is retained. A small hinge fracture can be seen on the lower left lateral of the dorsal side. General prehistoric date but probably Neolithic - Bronze Age, c. 4000-1400 BC.

Two flint debitage fragments, waste flakes from flint tool production. Both flakes are small and bladelet-like in form. The orange coloured flake retains the platform and bulb of percussion and has evidence of previous removals on its dorsal surface. The second flake, also a tertiary removal, is grey in colour and has evidence of previous removals on its dorsal side, but does not retain the platform or bulb and has suffered post-depositional damage. Although hard to date accurately, these flakes are likely to date from the Mesolithic to Neolithic period, c. 8000-2400 BC.

A flint 'plunging blade' from a double platformed core, therefore of Mesolithic or Neolithic date (c. 8000-2400 BC). There is no retouch and the overall form of the blade is uneven. The flint is heavily patinated to an off-white colour, although a small area of damage reveals a light grey core.

Two brokens flakes from flint working debris (debitage). The first is the distal end of a flake from a multi-platformed core, with the proximal end now broken and missing. This tertiary flake is a dark grey-brown in colour. The second piece is also a broken distal fragment of a flake, this time a secondary flake retaining c. 20% cortex along the right edge. This flint is a dark brown colour with creamy cortex. Three pieces of flint working debitage, or 'flakes' of later prehistoric date. Fragment no.1 is broadly triangular in plan and retains c.15% cortex on one edge. The flake has a shallow bulb and has sharp and jagged edges. It is a mottled grey-blue in colour with lighter, almost milky outer surface. Fragment no. 2 is a complete flake retaining the bulb and part of the platform. There is a small area (c.15%) of cortex on one side of the distal dorsal surface with a hinge fracture at the base. This flint is a light brown in colour and semi-translucent. The third fragment is a thick, amor…

Three small pieces flint working debitage, or 'chips', two of which are c.1cm in length. The larger fragment (no.1) retains under 10% cortex on one edge and has the bulb of percussion evident. It is a dark mottled grey in colour. The second piece (no. 2) retains no cortext or bulb and is broken at its distal end. This flint is grey in colour with a milky white outer surface. The third piece (no. 3) is a small chip with no bulb but lines of percussions on its dorsal surface. It has a point at the proximal end but this is just a result of the fracturing and not intentional. The flint is…

A collection of 89 flint debitage pieces of varying size, shape and colour, dating from the Mesolithic to Neolithic period (c. 10,000 - 2350 BC). The collection consists of flakes and blade-like pieces and chunks, mostly undiagnostic but considering the rest of the assemblage probably of Mesolithic or Neolithic date. Most of the pieces are made on a blue-grey flint, some with white or grey patina. Cortex survives on about 10% of the pieces. These objects are part of a larger collection from what appears to be a multiphase site.

A collection debitage consisting of 24 bladelets dating to the Mesolithic period (10,000-4001 BC). They are in varying sizes and varying stages of preperation. They are broadly rectangular in plan with a trapezoidal cross section., although the less-fine examples have a triangular cross section. All of the bladelets are on a mottled blue-grey flint many with a white patina forming. Seceral examples are in the early stage of preperation, retaining a small area of cortex. The pieces vary in soze from 33.5mm long x 14.4mm wide down to 16.4mm long x 7.2mm wide.

A collection of 48 flint debitage pieces (bladelet material) of varying size, shape and colour, dating from the Mesolithic to early Neolithic period (c. 10,000 - 3501 BC). The collection consists of mainly blade or bladelet shaped pieces and flakes with a few broken blades and small chips. Most of the bladelets have a triangular cross section. None are reworked. The flint material is generally a blue-grey with white or grey patina. Cortex survives on about 25% of the pieces. These objects are part of a larger collection from what appears to be a multiphase site.
