A prehistoric flint end and side scraper. Length 33.2mm; width: 22.8mm; thickness: 8.2mm; mass: 7.2g. The scraper is formed on a dark gray, almost black coloured secondary flint flake, with approximately 10% cortex remaining on one edge of the ventral side. There is abrupt retouch on part of one mesial edge and the distal end of the ventral side. The dorsal side has gentle ripples of the concoidal fracture, with a series of scars at the proximal end. There is also a large scar on one side of the distal end. The scraper is likely to be prehistoric, probably dating from the mesolithi…

A knapped flint scraper. Length 25.0mm; width: 19.1mm; thickness: 9.9mm; mass: 3.8g. The scraper is formed on a light brown/off white coloured secondary flint flake, with approximately 20% cortex remaining on one side. There are multiple negative flake scars on the flatter side. The other face has semi-abrupt retouch covering the semi-circular distal end, between the cortex at one side, and the break at the other side. A complete flint scraper and borer of Mesolithic date (c. 9000-3450 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular in plan and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface contains three predominant negative scars with corresponding arrises. The left hand side of the dorsal surface contains a small number of short, parallel removals done at a semi-abrupt angle. The distal end appears to have been abruptly blunted with a worked point for boring. There is also some retouch below the borer with the removals also short, parallel and done at a semi-abrupt angle. The ventral surface is convex with ripp…

A knapped flint blade with retouch. Length 41.4mm; width: 27.1mm; thickness: 9.5mm; mass: 8.2g. The blade is broken at the distal end. The blade is partly coritical and dark grey and off white in colour. On the ventral face there is a bulb of percussion at the proximal end, with a small bulbar scar and ripples of the concoidal fracture running down the face. On the dorsal side there are multiple scars, and on one edge there is some invasive, retouch and a notch. It is unclear if the notch is an original feature or whether it represents damage. There are also some scars between t…

A small waste dominated lithic assemblage of five blades/flakes, found scattered over a field (approx 100m2). The blades/flakes appear to be at least partially incomplete, and the absence of patina on some edges suggests that some damage may be recent, possibly from ploughing.
1. Blade(?), incomplete, brown/grey flint, 0% cortex, light patina. Three scars on the dorsal face, length 23.1mm, width 12.0mm, thickness 6.6mm, mass 2.03g;

Four flint debris or waste (microliths?) (lengths ranging from 23-33mm; collective weight: 4.32g). All of them have been struck once or twice on the dorsal to create one main arrise, including some evidence of re-touch on two of the artefacts. On the ventral side, the ripples or ‘lunettes’ or clearly visible illustrating the force of the impact.
Probably dating to the Mesolithic period between 8000-4000 BC.

A knapped/ worked Mesolithic flint blade, dating from c. 8000 - 4000 BC (length: 38.3mm; width: 11mm; thickness: 3.7mm; weight: 1.62g). There are no radiatting lunettes down the ventral side indicating the force the impact when the flake was knapped from the core, and there are two arrises on the dorsal side. The artefact is in a slightly worn but good condition.

A collection of seven worked flints (collective weight: 54.96g), as listed below:
1. One core rejuvenation flake, dating from the Mesolithic – Neolithic period between c. 8000 – 2200 BC. The flake has numerous dorsal scars and is struck off and ‘rejuvenated’, therefore creating a fresh flaking bed on the core face, and prepares the core platform and face for further removals.
2. One core rejuvenation flake, dating from the Neolithic – Bronze Age period between c. 4000 – 2200 BC. As No. 1.

The artefact has faintly visible ripples or ‘lunettes’ down its length on the ventral side, although the bulb of percussion and additional scars are not present. A knapped flint flake. Length 29.1mm; width: 18.5mm; thickness: 5.9mm; mass: 2.9g. The blade is non-cortical and grey in colour. The blade has convex sides which run from a narrow proximal end to the wider broken base at the distal end. On the ventral face of the scarred (?retouch) narrow proximal end there is a bulb of percussion, with pronounced ripples of the concoidal fracture below this. One edge of the blade has some small scars on both dorsal and ventral faces, creating a mildly serrated edge. The other edge is a scarred ridge with a slight notch in it. The blade is likely to b…
