The scraper is a sub semi-circular shape in plan. The rounded edge has been knapped on the dorsal surfacing, forming an oblique angle. The reverse is the ventral surface. The flint is a mottled grey/blue/white colour.

A late Mesolithic flint bladelet dating to the period c. 7000 - 4001 BC. The bladelet is sub-rectangular in plan with a slight curve along the length of the blade and a diagonal flaw across both sides of the blade. The dorsal surface exhibits three negative flake removal scars with two smaller negative flake removal scars which terminate at the diagonal flaw. The ventral surface retains a small bulb of percussion, indicating manufacture by soft-hammer striking. The flint is mottled mid - light grey in colour. There is some evidence of short, abrupt, scaled retouch along both sides.

A complete flint handaxe of Lower Palaeolitic date. The axe is a cordate biface and is complete save for one or two small chips. One side is patinated white and retains areas of cortex; one remaining area forms a hollow. The other side is grey with a dense tangle of off white lines.

A handaxe of Lower Palaeolithic date measuring 159mm x 99mm. Bifacially worked with relatively crude flaking. Mmottled light grey flint and has a creamy patina and much iron staining. Some damage has occurred during the axe's long history.

Sub-rectangular flint tranchet adze or axe. Both surfaces bear many flake scars and ridges as well as numerous areas with rippling although one is not so heavily worked as the other. The flint is yellow/green in colour. A very nice example of the type.

Large cortical flint flake, with c.30% cortex. The cortex is sandy coloured indicating the flint originated from sand/gravel/soil rather than chalk. The inner flint is a fine brown-red colour with no patination. There are five striking platforms. The bulb is large. The tip is broken off and the proximal end is damaged. Length 69.7mm, width 35.18mm, thickness (across the proximal (bulb) end) 12.2mm, weight 27.34g.

A probable Middle Palaeolithic handaxe. The handaxe is incomplete and was probably broken during manufacture or use, while one small area of more modern damage is evident. The handaxe is bifacially retouched, and a creamy grey core is covered by a thick orange patina, suggesting a gravel bed context or source, such as those known from Cassington, Oxon. The Devensian period at Cassington is well attested from evidence gained during gravel extractions. A incomplete late Neolithic / Bronze Age tanged and barbed arrowhead. The arrowhead is long and slender having been finely worked bifacially. The tang is pointed and again worked bifacially. The tip of the arrowhead is missing but otherwise it is a very well made and well preserved object with no indication of post-depositional damage. Arrowheads of this type are not a common find; those more often found are usually short and squat.

A Middle Palaeolithic Devensian cordiform handaxe from Cassington, Oxfordshire. The handaxe is bifacially retouched but does display some more modern weathering damage including fracturing and spooling. A grey-blue core is covered by a thick creamy-yellow patina. The handaxe measures 74.81mm long, 64.99mm wide and is 19.83mm thick. It measures 86.7gms. The Devensian period at Cassington is well attested from evidence gained during gravel extractions. The period here dates from c.75,000BC to 35,000BC.

A frgament from a Neolithic polished flint axehead dating from c.4000-2100 BC. Polished axes are very labour intensive and are thought to have held high value during this period. Polished axes were traded throughout Britain and Western Europe. In this example only the tip survives. The flint is covered in thick white patina suggesting a chalk downland source. It measures 43.79mm long, 42.43mm wide and is 22.84mm thick. It weighs 39.8 gms.

A retouched secondary flake, possibly a horseshoe scraper with retouch visible on both the dorsal and ventral sides. The tool appears to have battered edges all around it. The flint is a brown-grey in colour and the bud is still present on the ventral surface, although it has been partially removed by retouch. This tool measures 30.20mm long, 20.87mm wide and is 8.12mm thick. It weighs 6.9gms.

The arrowhead was the cause of consideration by Alison Roberts (Ashmolean Museum) and Prof. Nick Barton (Institute of Archaeology), and thanks are given for their comments, which follow: 'The flint appears at first to be of considerable age, however it is too small to be of Upper Palaeolithic origin, but is not quite right for the Neolithic period either. A lower palaeolithic handaxe, dating from c. 476,000 - 421,000 BC. The handaxe has been made of a flint nodule that has a greyish-white outer colouring, likely to be from a chalk downlands source. Dating from the Anglian phase of the Lower Palaeolithic, c. 478,000 to 423,000 years ago, the hand axe has bifacial removals made using a hard hammer, such as another stone. A collection debitage consisting of 24 bladelets dating to the Mesolithic period (10,000-4001 BC). They are in varying sizes and varying stages of preperation. They are broadly rectangular in plan with a trapezoidal cross section., although the less-fine examples have a triangular cross section. All of the bladelets are on a mottled blue-grey flint many with a white patina forming. Seceral examples are in the early stage of preperation, retaining a small area of cortex. The pieces vary in soze from 33.5mm long x 14.4mm wide down to 16.4mm long x 7.2mm wide.

A collection of 48 flint debitage pieces (bladelet material) of varying size, shape and colour, dating from the Mesolithic to early Neolithic period (c. 10,000 - 3501 BC). The collection consists of mainly blade or bladelet shaped pieces and flakes with a few broken blades and small chips. Most of the bladelets have a triangular cross section. None are reworked. The flint material is generally a blue-grey with white or grey patina. Cortex survives on about 25% of the pieces. These objects are part of a larger collection from what appears to be a multiphase site.

Two flint scrapers, probably dating from the late Neolithic to the Bronze Age. Both scrapers are made on tertiary flakes and have steep soft hammer retouching at the dorsal distal end and down laterals.
