A complete flint microlithic obliquely blunted point of Mesolithic date (9000-3450 BC). The lithic is sub-triangular in plan and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface has four predominant negative scars with corresponding arrises and is blunted at the proximal end. The left and right hand edges have fine semi-abrupt retouch. The distal end tapers to a distinct point and has fine semi-abrupt retouch along both edges. The flake retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake. The flint is grey in colour with cream inclusions throughout. Length: 34.87mm, Width: 13.27mm,…

A complete flint microlith of Late Mesolithic date (6300-4300 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular. The proximal and distal ends have been abruptly blunted. The left and right hand edges contain fine semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface retains a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end. The flint is grey in colour and retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake. Length: 6.85mm, Width: 6.83mm, Thickness: 1.22mm, Weight: 0.09g.

A group of two chert tools of Late Mesolithic date (6300-4300 BC). The lithic is a micro burin and is sub-triangular. The dorsal surface contains two predominant negative scars with a single, central arrise. The proximal end has been abruptly blunted while the distal end tapers to a point. The right hand edge contains fine semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface contains a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end. The chert is cream in colour. The flake retains no cortex and is therefore tertiary. Length: 17.23mm, Width: 8.87mm, Thickness: 2.39mm, Weight: 0.3g.…

A complete chert microlith probable scraper of Late Mesolithic date (6300-4300 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular. The dorsal surface is convex and contains six predominant negative scars with corresponding arrises. Both the proximal and distal ends have been abruptly blunted, the distal end having a cylindrical recession, probably naturally occurring within the chert, running into the body of the lithic. The left and right hand edges have fine, semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is predominantly flat with a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end. The chert is …
