A struck flint flake of probable Neolithic date, with characteristics of both a scraper and a blade. This artefact exhibits a good striking platform, beneath which there is a clear bulb of percussion and subsequent ripples on the ventral surface. The dorsal side has a single dorsal ridge with some scarring to the proximal end. Both long edges have possible evidence of slight retouch. The material is of a mid grey/brown flint with coarse inclusions or fossils.

This is a fine example of a lithic tool with a well defined blade in the ‘backed knife’ style. The material is a mottled tan flint, probably Neolithic in origin. It may reasonably be considered a blade/knife due to a cutting edge length, more than three times its width. This is a particularly interesting example of a tertiary lithic tool, or interior flake, lacking as it does any sign of the cortex. The material is opaque mottled pale cream and has a fine microcrystalline structure with apparent mineral inclusions; the surface has the waxy lustre of chalcedony. Large piece of raw flint / chert like material from which a series of blades and flakes have been removed. It is not a traditional core and is likely to represent a piece of raw material rather than waste. From the style of working it would suggest an early Neolithic date (c. 3500-2500 BC), with relatively large blade like flakes being removed. A small fragment of flint that has the characteristics of it being the proximal end of a Neolithic flint implement. The ventral surface has a clear bulb of percussion to the proximal end with diffuse percussion ripples across what remains of the ventral surface. The dorsal side has four distinct radial dorsal scars from the central ridge. The artefact then appears to have been broken away from what may have been a blade or conceivably, a prepared faceted butt. A small collection of flint debitage consisting of two secondary lumps and a small tertiary flake. The larger lump weighs 19.9gm and measures 28.4 x 27.8 x 27.5 the mid size artefact weighs 5.3gm and is 30.81 x 23 x 7.8 leaving the small flake at 0.9gm and measuring 25.6 x 8.66 x 4.5. The material has a pale cream colour with numerous inclusions of both lighter and darker material.
