The flake is quite substantial in depth, and therefore may have been created as a tool. In plan the flake is a sub-hexagonal shape, with one 'corner' being extended, perhaps as the tool element.
There is cortex remaining, otherwise the flint is now a mottled light grey colour.

Prehistoric flint blade fragment found in Ceredigion. Flint blade snapped at its bulbar end. One end shows possible evidence of utilisation. The butt end has a number of flaking scars, but there is no real evidence of the objects use as a scraper or similar. Made on honey coloured flint.

Bi-facially worked flint with the beginnings of pressure flaking scars along two edges on one face. The piece seems to have been subjected to thinning on the ventral face and retouch on the dorsal face. There is a possibility the piece is an unfinished arrowhead of barbed and tanged type (c.2500-1000BC) or an arrowhead of triangular form. There is a further possibility the piece is a crudely finished broken arrowhead.
