A complete workd flint 'Thames Pick' type Tranchet axe of Mesolithic date (c. 9000-3300BC). Description: The axehead is irregularly pointed oval in plan and curved in profile with a pointed butt and blade end and a waisted mid-section . It is roughly lozenge-shaped in cross-section along its entire length. The dorsal face is light brown to cream while the ventral face is dark grey with a large area of light cream cortex remaining.
