Secondary hard hammer struck flake, of fairly dull black flint, apparently from an opposed platform core. Orange patinated cortex to the one side of the distal end on the dorsal face. The platform is crushed and some of the flake scars to the dorsal face seem slightly exaggerated, one side of the distal end has what look like two burin spalls. The writer is not convinced this is man-made but given the site, it is recorded as a “possible” worked flint.

Cortex has reformed over a rounded end, where possible scalar retouch executed from the ventral aspect also appears. The opposite end is lightly battered. A dense creamy patina overall suggests the object has endured long exposure to a calcareous environment; orange spots might suggest its incorporation in gravel. Flint possible debitage. Four small irregular flakes, all with flakes struck from their dorsal sides; three retains elements of a bulbar ventral surface while the fourth and longest has a tiny bulb at one end of a concave ventral surface. A dense creamy patina suggests all have endured prolonged exposure to a calcareous environment after their deposition. The finder kindly notes the absence of naturally occurring flint in the vicinity, which has encouraged the consideration of these pieces.
