Appears unfinished. Elongated sub-ovoid shape. Highly polished bulbar face with very definite flakes removed and large amount of conchoid fracture. Almost hemispherical in section. Dorsal face near flat-except for slight bulb of percussion. Very dark charcoal coloured flint with some lighter grey-brown mottling.

A complete chert micro awl of Mesolithic date (9500-4300 BC). The dorsal surface contains two predominant negative scars with one large arise to the left hand side. The lithic tapers to a point at the distal end, the proximal edge is abruptly blunted and a minor amount of cortex is retained along the proximal right hand edge. The ventral surface is predominantly smooth and slightly concave with evidence of hinged flake removal at the distal end. The distal, and left hand edges have minor amounts of abrupt retouch. The chert is a mid brown in colour with cream inclusions throughout.
