A knapped flint of probable Neolithic date. The flint is sub-triangular in shape and resembles an arrowhead in shape. However, the flint has no invasive retouch and it retains the bulb of percussion and striking platform, a very unusual feature in Neolithic or Bronze Age arrowheads as the bulb of percussion is normally removed to facilitate hafting. The 'arrowhead' shape therefore seems likely to be coincidence rather than design. A piece of chert, possibly worked. If it has been knapped from a core, it does not appear to have been retouched subsequently. The object does not have any of the clear hallmarks of human intervention - it does not have a clear bulb of percussion or striking platform. What appears at first to be retouch on the lateral edges may actually be natural damage and wear. The chert has a pale brown colour. Find not photographed.

Flint weight of unknown date. The object is oval in plan and trapezoidal in cross-section. The object has a large circular perforation measuring 11.88mm in diameter. On the outer edge of the object and inside the perforation the cortex remains. The internal cortex is worn and pitted with a rough, irregular surface. The cortex on the outer surface is smooth. The upper and lower surfaces of the object are smooth. It has a light brown and white patina.

A knapped flint waste flake dating to the Bronze Age, c. 2150-800 BC. The flake has a very large bulb of percussion and ripples on the ventral face; the dorsal face has three blade removals. There is a small area of possible retouch visible on the dorsal face, but the condition of the cherty flint makes the evaluation of this difficult and the extent of the possible retouch suggests that this flake was not used as a tool. It measures 59.5 mm long, 40.2 mm wide, 10.4 mm thick and weighs 25.61 grams.

A possible knapped flint Palaeolithic tool or flake. The fragment is knapped from flint which is a mottled light grey/cream colour, but where there is the original surface remaining it has developed a heavy patination, which is a age/brown colour. Only a fragment of the object has this heavy patination, but it is these areas which appear to be negative flake scars. On both scars ripples of percussion are visible. U Flint object found by Sean O’Reilly at TL 9247 9971. A thin curved nodule of flint with expanded ends which carry pointed processes. The object fits easily into the hand & both ends have been battered, possibly by use as a hammer. The battering has removed scales of the thick cortex but has not penetrated to the underlying flint. It is not impossible that the damage is purely natural (e.g. by frost).

Mottled grey semi-translucent flint of high quality transverse arrowhead. Knapped flint transverse arrow head. A notched lozenge-shaped flint with long blade removal scars on what is taken to be the dorsal side hammer and pressure flaking particularly on the rear end of blade; some further scars appear to be struck from the edges and probably represent post-depositional damage. This flint was previously noted by Mike Hemblade of the North Lincolnshire Historic Environment Record. Suggested date: Neolithic, 3500-2100 BC. The arrowhead is brown grey with cream flecks. Mercer (1981) illustrated a similar example on page 127, Fig.55, No.L86 which is dated to the Neolithic period.
