A flint scraper, probably a thumb nail scraper of the Beaker period, about 2400 BC - 2200 BC. It is formed on a tertiary flake of dark grey flint, partially patinated to a light grey on the ventral face. It is oval, longer than it is wide, and is invasively worked. All the edges have invasive, abrupt, scaled retouch leaving only the centre of the dorsal face as a concave previous removal scar. It is 30.1mm long, 22.8mm wide and 9.7mm thick. 7.6g.

A complete flint Thumbnail Scraper of Neolithic date (3450-1500 BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in plan and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface is concave with short, scaled flaking along the proximal edge. The proximal edge has been abruptly blunted. All other edges except the blunted proximal edge have fine semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is slightly convex due to a bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end. Neolithic (Late) to Bronze Age (early) button/thumbnail scraper, 20mm long, 27mm wide, 7mm thick and 4.4g in weight. Made on a small flake removed from a small pebble. The entire dorsal face is a flake scar from a previous removal from the pebble. The butt is therefore cortical. The piece exhibits semi-abrupt retouch around the edge and is almost entirely on the dorsal face apart from a small notched area on the ventral surface. This perhaps makes this a multiple tool instead. The flint is of translucent grey to toffee brown although the area around the bulb on the ventral face has st…

Neolithic (Late) to Bronze Age (early) button/thumbnail scraper, 25mm long, 27mm wide, 12mm thick and 7.7g in weight. This small circular flake possesses semi-abrupt retouch around the entire edge from butt to butt. The retouch position is on the dorsal face and there is some cortex remaining on the dorsal surface. Flake scars indicate unipolar/directional flaking and the flint is semi-translucent. The butt was dihedral.
