Late Mesolithic/ Neolithic worked and notched flake. The amount of work suggests a tool of some kind, possibly a short borer? It measures 59.6x28.5x8mm and weighs 14.76g. The entire right dorsal edge has abrupt working, up to the proximal end which has a slight point extending. The upper left dorsal edge has a wide notch, semi-abruptly tooled. The lower left dorsal edge has a little light low working. the lower left ventral edge has additional low working, and semi abrupt working on the upper right edge behind the notch. The flint is light grey in colour with c.20% light patination.

Edge damaged flint flake from the the prehistoric period. It is roughly triangular in section and in plan. It is made from a grey flint. The dorsal face has a central ridge which is broken where the flint is notched. The ventral face is smooth although slight cnchoidal ripples can be seen. One long side of the flint has been broken and chipped, probably when it has been in the ground. This is likely to be a bi-polar flake which would explain the different fracture lines.

Irregular shaped flint blade / core rejuvenation flake of probable late Mesolithic date (6500BC - 3500BC). The flake is sub-rectangular in plan and broadly sub-triangular in cross section. The bulb of percussion is present on the reverse and there is also no evidence of cortex on any part of the blade; this suggests that the flake was produced during the later life of the core once this material has been removed. There also no evidence of detailed retouch / reworking. It is most likely that this flake / blade has been struck from a relatively well developed core which has produced an o…

A flint flake with some abrupt and semi-abrupt retouch. The flake is 67.8mm long, 26.5mm wide and 8.7mm thick. There is abrupt retouch on the left side and some semi-abrupt retouch on the right. The distal end appears to have been worked slightly more invasively, possibly for use as a piercer. The flint is dark brown and opaque. This tool is difficult to date because it is not particularly diagnostic, but may be from the Mesolithic period.
