Complete worked flint flake, probably dating from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age (c. 4000 - 801 BC). The flint is irregular in shape, almost oval, and slightly convex. The distal face retains its rough grey-brown cortex save for a section of short, abrupt and scaled retouch along 40% of the edge. The ventral face is unworked and reveals the mottled translucent grey colour of the flint. The worked flake is 40.93mm in length, 36.44mm in width and 11.06mm in thickness. The weight of the flint is 22.32g.

Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: East Riding of Yorkshire
Workflow stage: Published
Complete flint arrowhead dating to the period from Early Neolithic to Early Bronze Age (c. 4000 - 1600 BC). The arrowhead has a flat base and convex sides. There is intensive low-angle scaled reworking on one face; there is some very slight scaled reworking on the other face. The flint is a translucent grey with white spots. The arrowhead is 33.75mm in length, 21.20mm at maximum width and 4.04mm at maximum thickness. The weight of the arrowhead is 2.85g.

Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: East Riding of Yorkshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Complete rounded flint scraper probably dating from the Neolithic (c. 4000 - 2300 BC). The scraper is largely circular in shape with a flat and smooth ventral face and a bulbous distal face that has invasive and scaled semi-abrupt retouch covering approximately 60% of the surface. The flint is translucent and grey in colour, with some small white patches. There is a patch of cortex on the distal face covering the unworked section. There is a small short, scaled and semi-abrupt retouched section along the edge on the ventral face corresponding to the cortex on the distal face. The scra…

Complete lithic implement formed from a flint flake, probably dating to Neolithic or Bronze Age (c. 4000 - 801 BC). The flake is sub-rectangular in profile, and convex, created from translucent grey flint with white spots. The lithic implement is flatter at one end and more bulbous at the other end. There is long sub-parallel retouch along one long side. Towards the more bulbous end of the flake the retouch becomes more scaled, although one's impression of this is obscured by a patch of recortication. The angle of retouch also becomes steeper towards the more bulbous end, changing fro…

Object type: BLADE
Broad period: MESOLITHIC
County: East Riding of Yorkshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Complete flint blade, dating to the Mesolithic period (7000 - 4000 BC). The object is rod-shaped and slightly convex, with the dorsal face curving out. The flint is almost D-shaped in section. One of the long edges is retouched with short, abrupt and parallel flaking. The retouch does not extend all the way to the top or bottom tip and the retouched edge curves in slightly, while the opposite edge is almost straight. There is a white scar of percussion on the ventral face. Otherwise, the object is dark grey in colour with small white spots along the long, unretouched edge. The length …
