A Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age flint scraper, probably dating to c. 3300-1000 BC. The flake is broadly sub-oval in plan and broadly flat in cross section; it is a tertiary flake with no surviving cortex and made of a grey/brown flint with large areas of pale grey inclusions. A striking platform survives at the proximal end, and with all visible removals struck from this direction. On the ventral face below the platform is a pronounced bulb of percussion with a large bulbar scar, both suggesting the use of a hard hammer. Thumbnail scraper on opaque mid brown flint becomeing paler towards one side and with medium sized pale mottles. The scraper is D shaped in plan with a curved distal end with long to invasive, parallel semi abrupt retouch along the entire edge from the ventral face. As the ends of this retouch has come over a thicker area towards the centre the force has gone out of it and they have interferred with each other to leave shalow scalar removals. Probably a palaeolithic flint tool reused in the later prehistoric period, possibly as a knife or other cutting tool. The tool is of a dark brown/black flint, rolled and with significant areas of iron staining. A collection of two pieces of Bronze Age chert debtage (c. 2350- 800BC) Both pieces are tertiary flakes, as there is no cortex remaining and both show signs of multi-platform working.
