Grey semi-translucent flint, of good quality, knife. Plano-convex knapped blade, bearing three long blade removal scars on the dorsal face, and a bulb of percussion on the ventral surface showing where the blade was removed from the core after these long flakes had been removed. This working was probably with hard hammer, but pressure flaked retouch appears along both long edges. The removal of long thin flakes and the selection of apt material tend to indicate an earlier Neolithic date; however, the plano-convex form anticipates later blade and fabricator forms, so a broader date-ran…

Black flint with dull grey band (though this perhaps arises from impact), from an irregular nodule with light external patination. Probably good quality flint, as from the East Coast or redeposited in glacial drift. Possible Core. Irregular struck flint, with apparently controlled hard hammer flake removal scars on four faces. Further conchoidal fractures appear to be of very recent date, and a superficial appearance of retouch along edges probably also arises from fortuitous recent damage. The collection of this material, and the recognition of its potential for tool mak…

Cloudy mid grey flint scraper. Flint flake with knapping scars showing hard hammer removal of three long flakes from the dorsal surface at one end, and a bulb of percussion on the ventral surface at the other end, arising from the subsequent detaching of this flake from a core. This provided an oval blank of angular plano-convex profile. The striking platform from initial flake removal was then modified by pressure flaking to create an end scraper.
