Grey semi-translucent Flint Scraper, as kindly identified by the finder. A flake with its dorsal side covered by broad scars from abrupt hard hammer working. The bulb on the ventral side is lost at a recent break; at the opposite end is a hinge fracture. There is short pressure flaked retouch along one edge (to left in first view). Grey-green Flint Scraper with notch, as kindly identified by the finder. Sub-triangular flake with broad flake removal scars on the dorsal side and a prominent bulb on the ventral, suggesting abrupt hard hammer working. A rounded notch 7.5mm across has been cut into one edge from the dorsal aspect, and is probably smoothed by use. Suggested date: Bronze Age, 2350-800 BC. Grey flint with thin cortex scraper. Leaf shaped flake with broad flake removal scar on its dorsal side and with a prominent bulb on its ventral. Short to invasive pressure flaked scalar retouch of the ventral side interrupts a light cloudy patina, extending along one edge of the flake incorporating a small notch. This may suggest the reworking of Late Neolithic debitage to produce an Early Bronze Age scraper. Suggested date: Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age, 2700-1600 BC. Grey flint with cortex scraper, kindly identified as a transverse scraper by the finder. Thick sub-triangular flake with moderately dense patina on one side suggesting possible earlier working, then detached by an abrupt hard hammer impact from the side, thereafter accumulating a light cloudy patina on its ventral side. The edge opposite the latter impact appears as a broad hinged fracture. That smooth and curved edge then attracted short scalar retouch from the same side, possibly extending to the edges on parts of the ventral side. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC. …

Dark grey flint knife. Oval knife with abrupt hard hammer working from various directions covering both sides. There is a suggestion of battering along one edge of what may have been the dorsal aspect, to judge from the curved profile of the flake. Dr Kevin Leahy kindly suggests that the low angle retouch should suggest the identification of this object as a knife, rather than a scraper, which was the initial suggestion advanced by this reporter.
