Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Dark grey flint scraper. A small chunk with broad flakes struck from each of its three sides from a flat striking platform, suggesting it to have been a core. Short abrupt retouch following a curved edge marks its conversion to or completion as a scraper. Dense misty patina covers all struck surfaces, suggesting the object has subsequently endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment. Suggested date: Late Neolithic, 2700-2350 BC Length: 37.2mm, Width: 32.1mm, Thickness: 16.1mm, Weight: 16.20gms

Object type: LEAF ARROWHEAD
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Grey flint with cortex possible leaf-shaped arrowhead. A thin oval flake with narrow parallel flakes removed from its dorsal surface, trimming cortex which in part remains. There is a bulb at one end of the basal surface. Patches of misty patina may suggest the object has endured exposure to a calcareous environment after its deposition. The finder kindly suggests this to be debitage, perhaps in this case as an unfinished arrowhead. Suggested date: Early Neolithic, 4000-3500 BC Length: 26.8mm, Width: 21.4mm, Thickness: 5mm, Weight: 3.24gms

Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: MESOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Grey flint scraper, as kindly identified by the finder. A thick flake with broad and narrow parallel flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a bulb at one end of a slightly concave ventral surface. Angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows the curved end. Given the age of the object, a lack of surface patina may point to its inclusion in a sealed context until recently. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 70000-4000 BC. Length: 41.5mm, Width: 29.0mm, Thickness: 8.7mm, Weight: 14.18gms

Object type: FABRICATOR
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Grey flint fabricator fragment. An oval section tool with covering angled scalar retouch across both its sides, rounded at one end and flat at the other. The latter may evidence an ancient break, as a light misty patina extends across all surfaces, suggesting the object has endured a limited period of exposure to a calcareous environment. Suggested date: Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age, 2700-1600 BC. Length: 38.8mm, Width: 20.9mm, Thickness: 12mm, Weight: 12.94gms
