Very short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect defines a hollow in one long edge, while the opposite edge may bear very fine serrations, more easily felt than observed. Creamy patina on struck surfaces suggests the object has endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC. Mid grey flint, with heavy white patina overall. Microlith. A rod shaped triangular section point with possibly pressure flaked or soft hammer retouch along one long edge. The finder kindly suggests a Late Mesolithic date. The patination over all worked surfaces argues this object was exposed for a long period.
