Leaf shaped flake with broad flakes removed from its dorsal side and also the ventral, and with short abrupt retouch executed from the ventral aspect along part of one edge. Thin flake with invasive scalar retouch of the dorsal side partially removing cortex and following two edges; the third edge is a hinged fracture. Dark grey flint knife. Oval knife with abrupt hard hammer working from various directions covering both sides. There is a suggestion of battering along one edge of what may have been the dorsal aspect, to judge from the curved profile of the flake. Dr Kevin Leahy kindly suggests that the low angle retouch should suggest the identification of this object as a knife, rather than a scraper, which was the initial suggestion advanced by this reporter. Oval flake with long broad parallel flake removal scars on its dorsal side, and with broader scars on the ventral, the latter probably struck from the other end but in both cases with prominent rippling. Together these conferred a sharp cutting edge. Suggested date: Bronze Age, 2350-801. Length: 51.8mm, Width: 36.5mm, Thickness: 8.2mm, Weight: 17.63gms.

Black and brown parti-coloured flint, knife. Oval flake with two large flake removal scars on its dorsal aspect, and prominent rippling from the hard hammer strike which detached this flake from the core. Pressure flaked retouch was then carried round the edge of the flake, and is itself locally smoothed by subsequent use. The planar appearance is reminiscent of that of flint 'daggers' of the Early Bronze Age, though this object is not so elongated. The edge is lightly notched at one point by probably recent damage. White patinated flint possible knife, as identified by finder. Flake with a notch on either side, perhaps to assist hafting, and with long thin blade removal scars along two sides of a sub-triangular point. It seems that subsequent fine pressure flaking with a point has formed serrated edges at this end, though this is a feature which is more easily felt than seen. The proximal end and left edge of the dorsal face has invasive parallel retouch. The ventral face has a small bulb of percussion and ripple marks. The length is 31.8mm, the width is 24.8mm, the thickness is 6.0mm and the weight is 4.70g.
