Dark brown flint nodule with cortex, scraper. A round flint pebble or nodule of high quality, with invasive angled scalar retouch which has removed eight large long and mostly parallel flakes in an episode of skilled and perfunctory working from a single direction. The cutting edge produced has seen some use as evidenced by its light battering. The rapid removal of larger flakes might usually suggest a late date; however, the selection of this material, which is imported to the area, might rather point to an earlier date and to its economical rather than haphazard working.
