Pale grey flint with cortex backed blade. A sub-triangular flake with a broad flake struck from its dorsal side, and with a positive hinge fracture along one long edge. A bulbar ventral surface has had about three large flakes removed by hard hammer strike, the last being in the same position as the first flake trimmed to produce a robust triangular section cutting edge. A complete knapped lithic implement of the late Neolithic to early Bronze Age period, probably dating from c. 2400 - c. 1600 BC. The object is probably a secondary flake removed from a larger core, and then subjected to further working, and was probably used as a scraper tool. The object is broadly pentagonal in plan and broadly D shaped in section. Around 95% of the remaining cortex covers the ventral face of the tool.
