A flint lithic implement, possibly a blade, dating from the Neolithic to Bronze Age period, c. 4000 BC-1800 BC. The blade is narrow and sub-rectangular in plan with a pointed tip. The blade has a serrated edge but the facets and the dorsal face show no signs of a strucked flint apart from a small notch at one end. The serrations could be due to plough damage but the flint seems to show signs of a considered design. The flint is a light - dark grey with patches of orange colouration. Dark grey flint debitage fragment. A small chip, broken at either end, with narrow parallel flakes struck from its dorsal side, and with a flat ventral surface. Presented along with a possible transverse arrowhead [a late Neolithic object type] in similar material. However, the pattern of flake removal here might rather point to a later Mesolithic date. One long side bears fine serrations, which are more readily felt than observed. The lack of patina may hint at its subsequent inclusion in a sealed context. Suggested date: Unknown, Late Mesolithic to Late Neolithic, 7000-2350 BC
