A gunflint struck from a tertiary flake of dark grey flint which has short abrupt retouch all around to create a subrectangular flake. The proximal end retains a patch of cortext and has a curved back resembling a scraper. The side profile is triangular and the bulb of percussion is large and centrally placed suggesting working with an iron hammer. The size and shape suggest that the gunflint is of French origin.

Knapped rectangular plano-convex flint with bevelled edges on its convex side, and with impact scars from use at both its ends. Reject blade from the production of gunflints, an elongated, tertiary iron hammer struck blade of unpatinated matt black with lighter grey streaks, the platform is partially crushed though both sides of the hertzian cone survive and are standing proud, no iron mark is noted from the hammer. The blade has four previous flake scars to the dorsal face and is rather broad for further processing into individual gunflints, and it is also of the wrong section, leading to its rejection.
