A knapped flint or chert scraper. The flint or chert is a mid red/brown colour with red/beige patches. In plan it is a sub-drop shape. The dorsal face (the face with the most scars) has retouch around the side and lower edges, the base of the drop shape. The retouch is formed by long, narrow parallel negative scars. The angle of the retouch is c. 60 degrees. The ventral face (smooth face) has no retouch, but has bulbar scars as well as the bulb and concentric rings. The scraper, with the striking platform at the top, is 36.98mm long and is 28.64mm wide. It weighs 10.6g. The scraper…

A possible knapped flint core. In section the core is sub-oval with a flat platform as the upper edge. This platform is a recently broken edge. In plan the core is a sub-triangle. The sides of the core have multiple negative flake scars which tend to be vertical. There are two patches of cortex remaining on the surface. The core is knapped from a mid grey/brown coloured flint. The core weighs 32.1g. It measures 30.93mm from the upper to the lower edge and 36.08mm wide. If this is a core, it is likely to date to the Neolithic period (-3500 to -2100).

A flint End scraper of early Neolithic date (C. Butler 2005; pp. 127). The implement has been made from a broad, thick flake. It is sub-oval in plan, having a deliberately flattened bottom edge. There is a limited amount of re-touching to the rounded top edge and parallel long sides. The convex upper surface of the tool is also roughly worked, with three or four uneven flake removal scars and a portion of the original flint cortex remaining. There is no reworking on the reverse, where, at the top, there is a small section of the core platform above a bulb-of-percussion. The flint is…
