Distal end of a econdary flint blade, probably of Mesolithic to Early Neolithic date. The blade is elongated and curved with a high arched dorsal face. Traces of cortex on left medial and proximal end covered c. 20% of dorsal face. The dorsal surface has three parallel vertical scars created by uni-directional flaking. The proximal end and bulb of percussion have been removed by snapping. A few long scalar removals at this point may indicate the snapping was deliberate. The flint is dark brown.
The blade measures 67.5 mm in length, 17.4 mm in width, 6.0 mm in thickness and weighs 8…

Secondary flint blade with cortext covering c. 30 of dorsal face in a band down one side. The blade is curved with a high arched dorsal face. The aris and flaking scars on the dorsal face compared to the bulb of percussion and ripples on the ventral face show it was struck at 90 degrees to previous removals off the core and may be a core refreshment or formation flake. There are multiple long scalar abrupt removals on the dorsal face at the distal end which may relate to the original working on the core or damage from use / post-deposition. There is a area of very short, semi-abrupt s…

Four knapped flint blade like pieces, probably of Neolithic date.
1. Distal end of a secondary flake or blade. The piece has a hinge fracture at the proximal end which has removed the striking point and bulb of percussion. Scars on the dorsal face suggest this was one of several parallel removals from the same platform. The distal end is covered in thick, white cortex suggesting a chalkland origin for the flint. The flint is mid grey with paler patches. It is 19.3mm long, 26.1mm wide and 6.2mm thick; it weighs 3.74 grams.

Proximal end of a knapped flint tertiary blade probably of Mesolithic to Neolithic date. Angled snap at the distal end. Clear bulb of percussion and ripples on the ventral face and scars from removals from the same platform on the dorsal face. A small chipped indent on the longer edge opposite the start of the snap on the other edge may be accidental or may indicate a deliberate attempt to snap it. Mid grey translucent flint. 16.4mm long, 11.5mm wide and 3.4mm thick. It weighs 0.79 grams.

Proximal end of a large knapped tertiary flint blade of Neolithic to Bronze Age date. There is a prominent bulb of percussion and ripples on the ventral face. Aris from previous removals on the dorsal face suggest other large removals form the same core, one possibly at an angle or from a different platform. There is an accidental break at the distal end. There is extensive chipping down both edges on both sides but none appears to be deliberate retouch. It may be damage from plough rolling or use. Dark grey flint. 44.6mm long, 28.0mm wide, 10.1mm, 13.38g.

Three proximal ends of knapped flint tertiary blades. All have clear bulbs of percussions on the ventral faces and aris and ripple marks on the dorsal face suggesting previous parallel removals from the same platform. The breaks at the distal ends are all slightly irregular and two are possibly the result of notches or indents in the side of the blade that have continued into a snap. Two mid-grey flint with paler mottling, one pale grey flint. 9.05 grams.
The blades are relatively broad and crude perhaps suggesting an early or mid Neolithic date.
