Early Neolithic (c. 4,000 to 2351 BC) microlith knapped from a mottled dark grey flint hich has a waxy texture. The dorsal surface has two vertical scars, and there is a trace of a white patina suggesting the it has been made from an older flake.A lateral edge has retouch along its length which is abrupt and short. The distal end appears to have been purposely truncated. It measures 34.46mm long, 10.67mm wide, 5.98mm thick and weighs 2.58g. This is probably an early Neolithic serrated blade (Butler, 2005;130). Neolithic serrated blade: The blade has been knapped from a mottled mid brown coloured flint. The blade is a sub-rectangle in plan and trapezoidal in section. The distal end is obliquely angled and has a patch of cortex remaining. The longer lateral edge has re-touch on the dorsal surface, with a few re-touch scars on the ventral surface. This edge feels blunt and not a good quality serrated edge. The length of the blade is 60.99mm long, 27.4mm wide and 6.36mm thick. It weighs 15.3g. The serrated blade probably dates to the early Neolithic period (-4000 to -3500).

The object is possibly a blade, but then has been re-used as re-touch occurs along one edge. The blade has been knapped from flint. The blade probably dates to the Neolithic period, -4000 to –2500. In section the blade has a triangular section. The blade is incomplete as there is a break, but this break is not recent as the blue/grey coloured patina which is on the suface ofthe blade also covers the break. One long edge has small re-touch scars which have removed the patina, suggesting the blade has been re-used at a later date. On the reverse the bulb of percussion is situ…
