The blades are roughly trapezoidal in shape, and have been manufactured from a dark grey or in three cases mid grey flint; there are no signs of edge retouch though on some longitudinal strike marks of blade removal are visible; the majority have small striking platforms. The cortex is retained on the flints, though in some cases a very small area.

Patchy medium to heavy white patination and orange staining in places on both faces.

A complete Neolithic flint axehead, probably a roughout for polishing, dating to circa 4000-1600 BC. It is broadly elongated oval in plan and oval in section. It is bifacially flaked on a nodule of opaque, beige coloured flint. The flaking is multi-directional and invasive. The cutting edge is rounded with longitudinal flaking. The butt is rounded and narrower than the cutting edge.
The axehead would have been intended to have a polished finish whereupon it would have been hafted.
