A Neolithic polished or ground flint axe. The axe is complete save for some recent damage near the blade and on the butt on one side only. The axe has been made from a mottled grey flint which is now patinated a greenish-brown, probably from being in a river. There are a few patches of calcareous concretions. The axe has flattened side facets and a number of deeper flake scars are visible within the ground surface. The axe measures 167mm long and 65mm wide. It is 36mm thick and weighs 441g.
