Grey flint with cortex, core fragment. A sub-triangular chunk with long broad parallel flakes removed by unidirectional working from a flat striking platform. The core has broken diagonally, though scars on what remains of its back may suggest that working was carried most of the way round. The lack of patination may hint that the object was subsequently incorporated into a sealed deposit. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC

Grey brown flint with cortex, core. A small chunk bearing broad and narrow scars from multangular working; as traces of patina remain between struck faces this may have entailed reuse of a discarded core. A flint blade core of probable Neolithic date.
Description: The core is fabricated on a piece of pale brown flint. There is an area of off-white cortex remaining on one side. Several small striking platforms are visible, from which bladelets have been struck in various directions. One larger blade has been struck leaving a scar approximately 3/4 the length of, and the full width of, the core. This scar has a distinct bulb of percussion and ripples across the face. There is no further working.
