Flint implement, hardly patinated, probably an early Neolithic laurel-leaf shaped flint arrowhead (comp. Bond 2004, fig. 5.120). The object is in very good condition and hardly patinated. It was knapped from brown opaque, translucent flint and shows retouch on both ventral and dorsal faces as well as around the edges. The flint is gently curved and one edge seems to bear more retouch marks than the other. This suggests that although having the correct shape for a laurel-leaf shaped arrowhead, it could also have been a scraper and of slightly later Neolithic or even Early Bronze Age da…

A complete knapped lithic implement of Neolithic date. The implement is a petit tranchet arrowhead which is sub-triangular in plan and rectangular in section with one edge shallower than the other. Both surfaces are smooth and extensive retouch is present along the left and right edges. The cutting edge has been formed by the removal of a single tranchet flake. A small notch is present at the butt of the implement which shows signs of retouch suggesting it may have been reused as a spoke shave or similar. The flint is a mid brownish-grey colour with lighter and black inclusions. The …

White Patinated Flint Possible Arrowhead. Leaf shaped flake with four flake removal scars on its dorsal aspect and a subsequent bulb of percussion on the ventral side. The oval form and flat profile could qualify this as an arrowhead, though if so, the point has been lost in antiquity, as its site is patinated along with the rest of the object. Suggested date: Neolithic, 3500-2100 BC. Length: 23.2mm, Width: 17mm, Thickness: 3.1mm, Weight: 1.35gms.
