A complete flint side scraper, probably Neolithic in date (3500-2100 BC). The lithic is sub-oval in profile and is very smooth, showing signs of water wear. The dorsal surface has a set of prominent scars running diagonally across the surface, with retouched edges, predominantly on the left and top right side. The ventral surface is convex with a bulb of percussion located at the proximal end, and small retouching to the upper left side. The proximal end tapers to a slight point. The flint is a mid to dark brown with yellow and black inclusions throughout.

The dorsal surface has had numerous flakes removed and extensive retouch is present along the distal and mesial portions. Two patches of cortex are also present. The ventral surface is slightly convex with the bulb of percussion and striking platform having been removed. The flint is a mottled deep purple and blue colour with some lighter inclusions. The implement is 28.7mm long, 32.7mm wide, 9.6mm thick and weighs 9.1g.

The dorsal surface contains three predominant negative scars situated across the mesial portion and a minor amount of retained cortex at the mesial distal end. The left and right hand edges contain rough retouch and longer flake removal and abrupt retouch on the distal edge. The ventral surface is convex with a small bulb of percussion situated at the left hand edge and shallow ripples of percussion emanating towards the right hand edge there is also a small negative scar situated …
