A Neolithic discoidal scraper struck from a tertiary flake of grey flint, 47.3mm in length. The distal edge terminates in a hinge fracture and the sides and proximal end have been worked into scraping edges with short, semi-abrupt sub-parallel retouch. There is a notch at the proximal end next to the striking platform, which most likely derives from post depositional damage.

A rounded scraper made on a thick tertiary flake. The flint is mid-light mottled grey and has a low-gloss patina. On the dorsal face, scaled, invasive, semi-abrupt retouch around part of one margin is well-controlled, creating a fine, curved scraping edge. The remainder of the scraping edge is cruder and steeper, resulting in an irregular or denticulate edge with some incipient 'underhang', it is likely that this is the result of secondary working or re-edging prior to discard. A large side scraper tool made on a sub-oval primary flake of flint. The flint is opaque and mottled light to mid-grey and beige with a poorly-developed blue-white mid-gloss patina. The dorsal face is almost entirely covered in thick, chalky nodular cortex except for the wide and curved proximal end, which has been modified with semi invasive, semi-abrupt, sub-parallel retouch to create a steep sided and slightly irregular curvilinear scraping edge. The ventral face has the remains of a broad, low bulb of percussion (mostly removed during manufacture), and an incipient termination in …

Broken segment of a larger tool, probably a side and end scraper of Neolithic date, c.4000-2000 BC. It was formed on a large blade of dark grey tanslucent flint. The proximal end and the right edge (seen from the ventral face with proximal end downwards) is entirely missing to a long break. Impact scars on the ventral in the middle of this break may suggest it was deliberate or may be the result of post deposition impact, sone removals from it on the dorsal face may be accidental damage. There is extensive retouch on both faces along the remaining side to give a straigh edge. Semi abr…

A flint end scrape. Manufactured on a large, thick secondary flake, it is elongate in shape with a rounded distal end and triangular cross section. Thick nodular cortex remains on around 20 percent of the central dorsal face. The flint is opaque, mid to light grey with a low-gloss patina and is covered in a thin layer of smooth white/grey re-patination, some areas of reddish brown iron ferrous staining, mainly on ridges are visible. The dorsal face shows removal of broad flakes across the central areas and crude scaled, abrupt retouch extending around the steep sided distal end, some …

A flint scraper. Manufactured on a thick tertiary flake, it is sub-square in shape with rounded corners. The flint is opaque and now entirely covered in a smooth white/grey chalky patination with some areas of reddish brown iron ferrous staining, mainly across flake scar ridges. The dorsal face shows three parallel blade flake scars alongside one larger broad flake scar, this scar terminates in a hinge fracture. The pointed distal end shows scaled, semi-abrupt retouch along its right side margin and sub-parallel retouch at the rounded apex on the left side. The ventral face shows a fa…

A double ended flint end scraper. It is sub-oval with thick nodular cortex remaining across 70% of the dorsal face. The flint is semi-translucent mid-grey and has a mid-gloss patina. The retouch to the dorsal face is short, scaled and abrupt at the distal end where the cortex has been removed. The retouch to the proximal end and lower left and right margins is scaled and semi-abrupt. The ventral face is flat and shows no apparent bulb of percussion, however there are visible ripples indication the direction of percussion. Date: Mesolithic (possibly) to Neolithic 10000 BC to 2350 BC. …

A rounded scraper tool manufactured on a large secondary flake of flint. The scraper is sub-oval with thick nodular cortex remaining on approximately 80% of the central dorsal face and some small areas along the left side margin. The flint is opaque, mid to light grey and mottled with a low-gloss patina, some areas of ferrous iron staining are visible. The retouch to the dorsal face is long, sub-parallel and abrupt around the distal end and left side margin, the right side margin has a long and straight hinge fracture running from the distal end to half way down the tool, there is a sl…
