Knapped and flaked flint knife blade / scraper of later Neolithic date (3000-2000BC). The scraper is formed from a large piece / flake of secondary debitage. It seems to have been formed crudely and possibly discarded relatively swiftly. The scraper / knife is formed on a rectangular thickish blade. It has multiple flaking facets on the dorsal face and the ventral is unworked. A small area of yellow cortex is present on the dorsal face. From this area of cortex relatively neat flake scars emanate. Secondary flaking / retouch has been applied to the curved outer edge of the flake on do…

Two flint 'thumbnail' scrapers of probable Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date (2500 - 1500 BC). Both scrapers are formed on pieces of debitage, one on a primary flake, the other a secondary. Both flakes are broad and squat being broadly oval in plan and sub-rectangular (D shaped) in cross section. Evidence for retouch or secondary working can be seen on the sides and the front end of both flakes; these facets are small neat and regular. The reverse face (ventral) of each flake has not been worked. The flint is a mid grey colour with a slight abraded surface. Thumbnail scrapers ar…

Three pieces of secondary debitage, waste, from the second phase of tool making. All have between 10% and 50% cortex present on their outer surfaces. These three pieces have been knapped with multiple flake scars on their dorsal faces and conchoidal ripples on the ventral. From the style of flaking a Neolithic date is suggested. Bulk weight: 12.78 grams
