Pale grey flint debitage fragment. A narrow straight-sided flake with long narrow flakes struck from its dorsal side and with an undulating ventral surface; a white patina has developed over struck surfaces suggesting the object has endured exposure to a calcareous environment. Chips a either end reveal the original tint of the flint, which is probably from the Lincolnshire Wolds. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC Length: 23.6mm, Width: 10.2mm, Thickness: 3.7mm, Weight: 1.02gms

Black flint debitage fragment. A small irregular chunk with parallel flakes struck from its dorsal side. A dense white patina has accumulated across all surfaces, removed by later damage to expose the underlying tint of the flint. The patina may suggest the object has endured prolonged exposure to a calcareous environment. As the find-spot is not on chalk it may have been imported. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC Height: 20.4mm, Width: 22.9mm, Thickness: 10.8mm, Weight: 5.80gms

Pale grey and patinated flint possible debitage. Six irregular flakes [of lengths 44.3mm-19.3mm] with scars from the trimming of flakes from their dorsal sides, and the largest – which is also lightly heat-damaged - with angled scalar retouch across the bulb on its ventral surface. Three other flakes including the smallest fragment have bulbar ventral surfaces. Where a creamy patina has developed across the struck surfaces the objects may have been imported from an area where they had endured exposure to a calcareous environment; the find-spot is not on chalk. Opaque mid grey flint, possibly collected from the East Coast, possible debitage. A thick triangular chunk with a powdery possibly marine-derived deposit on one dorsal face interrupted either by short scalar retouch at its end or by battering at that site. The ventral surface is rounded, possibly bulbar, but with further flaking or impact damage. Suggested date: Bronze Age, 2350-800 Height: 49.6mm, Width: 46.8mm, Thickness: 28.6mm, Weight: 49.35gms

Flint debitage. Six tiny [of lengths between 24.5mm to 9.4mm] flakes with scars from the removal of narrow or parallel flakes from their dorsal sides, and with flat or bulbar ventral surfaces. A creamy patina across all struck surfaces suggests the objects have subsequently endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment, and iron-spotting may suggest their incorporation in gravel. As the find-spot is not on chalk the patina may hint that it has been imported. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC Combined Weight: 5.54gms

Pale grey-buff flint with cortex spot, debitage. Two small struck chips [length 23.4mm and 19.5mm]. The longer sub-triangular flake bears invasive angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect and has a rippled ventral surface. The other was perhaps detached by working similar material and has a concave dorsal surface and a tiny bulb behind a projecting nib. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC Combined Weight: 4.59gms

Flint pebble with cortex, core. A small chunk from a cortified pebble with a large flat striking platform and scars from the removal of broad flakes by unidirectional working. A dense creamy patina across all struck surfaces suggests the object has subsequently endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment. As the find-spot is not on chalk this may hint that it has been imported. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC Width: 43.6mm, Height: 26.4mm, Thickness: 25.5mm, Weight: 35.23gms

Probably mid-brown flint debitage. A thin flake with narrow parallel flakes struck from its dorsal side  and with a flat ventral surface. Short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows one long edge. Fire-crazed overall. A creamy patina lost at a chip at one end [which reveals the tint of the flint] may suggest that the object has endured exposure to a calcareous environment, and hence that it may have been imported to its find spot, which is not on chalk. Suggested date: Late Mesolithic, 7000-4000 BC Length: 31.4mm, Width: 10.8mm, Thickness: 4.8mm, Weight: 1.78gms

Patinated flint debitage with some iron-stained spots. Seven thin flakes [of lengths between 33.8mm and 20.3mm], all with long narrow parallel flakes struck from their dorsal surfaces. The dorsal surfaces are either flat or, for the three smallest flakes, slightly concave. The patina may indicate the objects have endured exposure to a calcareous environment. As the find-spot is not on chalk, this might hint at the importation of chalk and flints, as for building, road-making or marling, in which artefacts were accidentally incorporated. A draft of long angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect appears on the larger flake, while the smaller may bear very short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect at one end. Grey-brown flint with cortex, debitage. An irregular flake from the outer surface of a nodule with a bulbar ventral surface. Possibly formed by frost action in ‘pot lid’ form, but very roughly trimmed with a hard hammer and bearing at least two drafts of angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect. Probably an ephemeral tool knocked out for a single passing use. Suggested date: Bronze Age, 2350-800 BC. Length: 37.6mm, Width: 37.7mm, Thickness: 7.3mm, Weight: 11.65gms
