Dark grey green flint with cortex possible scraper. A sub-triangular flake with broad flakes trimmed by hard hammer strike from its dorsal side, and with a hollowed ventral surface. A long narrow flake has been trimmed by further retouch executed from the ventral aspect. Short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect has trimmed a small amount of cortex from a curving edge. Pale brown and black flint, the latter with cortex spot, debitage. Three small flakes of irregular form, all with broad flakes struck from t heir dorsal sides and each with a bulbar or slightly concave ventral surface. The lack of surface patina may suggest these have recently been disturbed from a sealed context. The object illustrated at the left might have seen use as an oblique arrowhead, a later Neolithic form. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC. Combined weight: 7.34gms

Honey tinted flint plano-convex knife fragment. Tip of a small plano-convex knife. Long narrow parallel flakes have been struck from the dorsal side while there is a small bulb at the end of a slightly concave ventral surface. Slight misty patina developed, suggesting a limited period of exposure to a calcareous environment. Invasive angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows the converging long edges, removing this light patina. Broken, probably recently, at its wider end. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC Length: 20.1mm, Width: 11.5mm, Thickness: 3.8m…

Burnt flint debitage. A small chunk with broad parallel flakes struck from its dorsal side, and with an irregular ventral surface. Dark grey (dark brown under transmitted light) flint with cortex strip, scraper. A thick flake with broad flakes trimmed from its dorsal side and a bulbar ventral surface. Misty patina has developed on both sides, though more thickly on one, suggesting some differential level of exposure to a calcareous environment. This has then been removed, by a positive hinge fracture at one side, and across the dorsal face in large areas, suggesting working by angled hard hammer strike. There is also a strip of patina trimmed from along one side of the ventral surface. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4…
