A flint 'Thames pick' of Mesolithic date, 154.5mm in length, struck from a long flint pebble or nodule of dark grey flint. The proximal end / butt end of the tool retains its light brown cortex and the cross section of the tool appears to follow the original sub rounded profile of the nodule, with only the front portion being worked with hard hammered removals. The cutting edge is wedge shaped and appears to have some use-related damage; originally the tip may have been shaped with one or more tranchet removals but these are no longer particularly clear.

Possible flint piercer/arrowhead, of prehistoric dates. Due to its shape, and some retouching, it was likely earmarked to be a tool, but discarded pre-usage. The dark colour of the flint, and its workmanship suggest that it is likely of Neolithic origin. The flint is 90% of a white cloudy patina, and 10% of its surfaces showed signs of iron staining. This is a common occurence on the Land's End peninsula, where we regularly find flint scatters, representing extremely long periods of occupation. The tool is triangular in shape, with a tapering profile and plano convex cross section. One side retains around 40% cortex and the surface is patinated / recorticated to an orange brown from prolonged deposition in iron-rich gravels.

A scraper struck from a primary nodule flake of dark brown flint. The edge has short abrupt and semi abrupt scaled retouch to create a working edge. There is no evidence for a prepared striking platform although one side of the tool has considerable damage from battering, possibly consistent with hard-hammered removal; however the overall form suggests a natural potlid / frost fractured flake which has been casually re-used. Probably of later prehistoric date, but (given the findspot) potentially earlier.

Flint debitage; as it is not a tool, it is difficult to securely date this object. However, flint from Beer Head in Devon is typically of a dark grey/black hue, much like this flake, and does not seem to have been imported into Cornwall until the Neolithic period. As such, this flint flake, if indeed Beer Flint, is likely to date to the Neolithic to Bronze Age periods. It was found in moderate proximity to Carn Kenidjack; a hill covered in prehistoric megaliths, including Tregeseal Stone Circle.
