A small oval bifacially worked flint knife of Neolithic date. Both sides have intrusive and covering long low angle retouch on the distal portion. The proximal end retains buff coloured cortex and is largely unrefined, suggesting the knife may have been hafted to a handle.

Pale brown toffee-coloured flint with pale cream markings, knife, as kindly identified by the finder. Oval flake with two broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a bulbar ventral surface. Angled scalar retouch executed from the dorsal aspect trims one narrower end and probably the adjoining long side. Grey flint knife, as kindly identified by the finder. A thick oval flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and a bulbar ventral surface. Short abrupt retouch follows a curving edge; a chip was probably damage incurred in antiquity as orange staining from contact with gravels passes over the broken surface. Suggested date: Early Bronze Age, 2350-1600 BC Length: 42.5mm, Width: 38.4mm, Thickness: 14.4mm, Weight: 18.06gms

A flint probable knife of uncertain date, Mesolithic to early Bronze Age, 10000 BC - 1000 BC. It is a large tertiary flake of mottled light grey flint which is roughly rectangular, with the right distal corner curved and the left distal corner extending into a slight point. The curved right edge is retouched from the dorsal face with short, low-angle sub-parallel removals. The distal end has similar retouch, and the left side is retouched in the same way but from the ventral face. There are scars of glue on the reverse where the flint has previously been mounted on cardboard.…

Pale grey flint with cortex possible knife fragment. A large flake with an apparently curved cutting edge, neatly truncated on one end where a flat and possibly smoothed surface of lentoid form appears. A large flake has been removed from behind the putative cutting edge by hard hammer strike from the dorsal aspect, possibly affording a thumb rest. Short abrupt retouch executed from the ventral aspect appears to follow the curving edge, its progress marked by the removal of a pale patinated surface to reveal the pale grey flint below – though a similar colour change also appears …

An incomplete flint knife dating to the late Neolithic to early Bronze Age period (c.4000-2500 BC). The knife is sub-rectangular in shape and has a straight break at the base. It is made from a dark grey flint. The dorsal face presents scaled retouch around the edges with a significant amount of cortex in the centre. It is unclear if the object is unfinished. The ventral face is untouched.  Dimensions: Length 41.6mm; width 31.7mm; thickness 8.5mm; weight 17.32g This object is a part of a collection of flints that have been recovered from three fields over a number of …

An incomplete worked flint knife of probable Neolithic to Bronze Age date (c.4500-1500BC) Description: The object is broadly triangular in plan and trapezoid in cross section. It has been produced from a tertiary flake of translucent light brown flint. The mesal curve equally to form a point at the distal end but there is a clean break across the object so the proximal end is missing. One face is slightly flatter and has invasive, sub-parallel, low angle retouch. The other face is slightly convex and has covering, scaled, low angle retouch. Measurements: Leng…

An incomplete flint knife probably dating from the Neolithic period, 4000 BC - 2200 BC. It is triangular in plan, broken across one end and rounded at the other which curves to one side. It could also be the tip of a sickle, but seems too small. It is formed on a tertiary flake of opaque light grey flint. It has bifacial invasive, low-angle, scaled retouch on one side (the concave side). It is 33.6mm long, 15.8mm wide and 3.8mm thick. 1.9g. Some glue adheres to one face, where the flint has previously been mounted post-recovery.

A fragment of a flint probable knife dating from the Neolithic period, 4000 BC - 2200 BC. The flint is broken obliquely at both ends, forming a triangular shape, and the surviving side is retouched. It is formed on a tertiary flake of semi-translucent brown flint. It has bifacial  invasive, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch on the side. It is 25.6mm long, 28.8mm wide and 5.6mm thick. 3.4g. Some glue adheres to one face, where the flint has previously been mounted post-recovery.
