The coin has the remains of two small circular piercings, which appear to have been made in antiquity. One is positioned at 6 o'clock when viewed from the obverse, the other at approximately 2 o'clock. The latter is incomplete due to old break…

A copper-alloy Roman radiate of Caravsivs, c. AD 286-293 (Reece Period 14), VIR[ ... ] (A)VGG, Jupiter standing right (holding thunderbolt?) clasping hands with Hercules standing left, holding club and lion-skin. The style and module (18.5mm) of the coin suggest that it is from the Mint of 'Rouen', but it is a very unusual coin. There do appear to be letters or symbols in the exergue. It has been included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
