A figure of a knight represented in a long belted surcoat and wearing a helmet. In both hands he carries what appears to be a mace, which is held close to his left cheek. Stippling around the neckline is probably intended to represent mail. On the reverse the figure is almost entirely flat, apart from a shallow groove in the centre, which retains the remains of two points of attachment. Scientific analysis has demonstrated that the figure is made of a cheap metal-alloy commonly used in the production of toys which has been coated to resemble oxidised silver. An incomplete copper-alloy finger-ring of Roman date. The hoop of the ring seems to have been sub-oval in shape, now broken with the loop directly below the bezel missing, and has an internal horizontal measurement of 17.9mm. It is not possible to determine the original internal or external vertical measurement but it seems to have been in excess of 13.2mm. The external horizontal measurement of the loop is 22.9mm.
