A copper-alloy Dupondius of Claudius, AD 41-54 (Reece period 2). Reverse legend reads CERES [AVGVSTA], S C. Reverse shows Ceres enthroned left holding corn-ears and torch. Mint is Rome AD 42. RIC I, pp. 127 & 129, cf. nos. 94 & 110. See Sear, D. Roman Coins and Their Values Vol.I, p.367, no.1856. This coin might be a contemporary copy, but is too poorly preserved to be certain - see G.
