A copper alloy Nertomarus type Langton Down brooch dating to the first century AD. The head of the brooch has been flattened but originally comprised hollow semi-circular wings with a central cast motif of an inverted triangle. The triangle itself is decorated with three moulded dots. Either side of the triangle is a plain, diagonal decorative ridge. Anglo-Saxon small-long brooch fragment dating to the sixth century AD. The fragment comprises the head plate. The head plate is rectangular in shape with two semi-circular cut outs in each corner giving it a cruciform appearance. It is decorated with a marginal pattern of stamped semi-circles and dots. On the underside of the head plate is a semi-circular lug with circular perforation. Iron corrosion products surround the lug. The fragment measures 22mm in length and 26mm in width. It has a thickness of 9mm.

A copper alloy miniature axehead dating to the Roman period. The object comprises a three dimensional representation of a axehead with pick. The axehead is socketed and cast integrally is a circular section handle. This extends and terminates in a circular loop. The object measures 44mm in length and 36mm in width from axe to pick. Miniature objects have been interpreted as votives offered at temples and shrines. Although they have often been assumed to be Roman, it is possible that some examples may date to the Iron Age and even earlier.

It is concave, circular in shape, and has three small circular perforations spaced at regular intervals around its circumference. It has a diameter of 31mm and a thickness of 3mm. Similar circular pans, with the same or larger dimensions, are known from deposits of c. 1270-c.1400 in London (Egan 1998, nos. 1039-1043) but Margeson suggests that they were still in use in the early post-medieval period (1993, 204-5).

An unusually large buckle frame dating to the medieval period. The frame is D-shaped with a narrowed pin bar. The wide outside edge is decorated with an engraved zig-zag forming triangles; those with their apexes towards the external edge are filled with faint rocker-arm engraving. There is iron corrosion adhering to the pin bar. Most unusually, the underside of both loop and bar are hollow, and so the buckle frame has a C-shaped cross-section. A copper alloy strap-slide dating to the mid to late fourteenth century. The frame is rectangular with an angled upper edge. It possesses a single circular rivet hole with a separate internal copper-alloy rivet surviving. It measures 15mm in length and 20mm in width. Strap-slides were used to hold down the free end of a belt or other strap. Similar examples are known from late 13th- to late 14th-century contexts in London (Egan and Pritchard 1991, nos. 1249-1252).

Ceramic head of a woman, possibly Roman. In style, it resembles the faces seen on face-neck flagons of the third to fourth century AD, however the fabric of the object is coarse and is likely to be of building material type rather than vessel fabric. The head has centrally parted hair and is wearing a headdress although the highly abraded nature of the object has obscured the detail of this. Likewise, the features of the face are visible but the detail is lost to abrasion. The anthropomorphic object measures 56mm in length, 49mm maximum width and is 14mm thick.

Late Roman to early Medieval copper-alloy buckle of Hawkes and Dunning Type IIA (1961). The object is decorated with transverse lines either side of the spur and at the wider part of the body, where a longitudinal line also gives the impression of a 'fin'. There is a linear pattern of dots next to this, followed by a triangle of dots and a solid diamond on the head. The buckle is c57.44mm in length and has a maximum width of 8.82mm.

Early medieval gilded copper alloy button brooch dating from 450-550 AD. The brooch consists of a small saucer shaped disc of copper alloy with a raised rim. The design on the brooch consists of an anthropomorphic face with pronounced eyebrows, nose and frowning mouth encased within a circular barley-twist outline. The back of the brooch has a catchplate missing the catchplate turnover and a very corroded iron pin that is no longer discernable from corrosion products surrounding it. Copper-alloy openwork spiked plate from a post-medieval buckle. The object consists of a trapezoidal flat frame with a short internal integral spike. Silver gilt spoon terminal comprising a small seated animal on a moulded capital. The figure is crudely cast and worn and now resembles a small dog, but the type would seem to be that of the lion sejant affonté even though the animal does not appear to have a mane. One shoulder survives, in the form of the stylised head and upper curved neck of a water bird - a duck or swan - with marked brow ridge and broad splayed bill which supports the bezel. A Medieval finger-ring, complete but distorted. The cusped setting holds a blue stone, probably a sapphire. The hoop is decorated along its two sides with a series of quatrefoils. The back of the hoop is left plain. Inside the hoop is an inscription, which reads: en bon foey The last word is likely to be a version of "foi", which would give the meaning "in good faith". A more substantial gold ring with a turquoise held in a similar setting was found among the jewels deposited with the Fishpool Hoard (BM MME 1967, 12-8, 2). Gold foliate accessory. It is made of fine pieces of gold, is broken in places and is therefore very delicate. Within a small circular recess to the front and bottom of this piece is green enamel. The presence of four loops at the corners suggests that it may have been sewn onto fabrics, though it was more than likely part of a necklace or bracelet. It is in the style of 19th-century revivalist jewellery and therefore is not classed as Treasure.

Where the clasp of the brooch touches the outer face, a piece of marcasite is now missing. Small silver bell, made of two halves cut from sheet and soldered together, pea inside. Engraved decoration all round top half. Whereas similar bells were sewn onto clothing as fashionable accessories in the late medieval period, especially in the 15th Century, bells of this kind were, in the 16th Century, attached to hawks and falcons by means of a bewit; found on collars for dogs and cats; as well as being an element in horse furniture. Gold finger ring with square bezel, within which is set a stone. There is a slight reddish tint to the surface but non-destructive X-ray analysis has confirmed that this ring has a gold content of 89-92%, which is the equivalent of 22 carat gold. The stone, which is badly cracked, has been identified by Raman spectroscopy as quartz and could be referred to as a faintly banded agate. The d-section hoop expands at the shoulders, forming an openwork pattern of three prongs, all with geometric decoration. The ring weighs 8.84 grams. An iron padlock complete with shackle. In Geoff Egan's opinion it is most likely to be of relatively recent date, probably 18th century or early 19th century. The padlock is an irregular cylinder, being shorter on the outer edge and longer on the inner edge. The maximum length is 105.55mm, minimum length 83.57mm, diameter of case minimum 34.07mm, maximum 40.03mm. The arm or shackle pivots from a sub-oval plate which has a thickness of 5.12mm, is 55.17mm long and 32.65mm wide. It has a 'C' shaped cross-section and a curved length of 226.0mm. A complete cast copper-alloy winged chape of Rieth's Barriere (Indres) type dating from the Early Iron Age that is c. 800-600BC (Rieth 1942; Gerloff 2004, fig. 17.9.1). The chape is almost complete and in very good condition. Only the outer tips of the wings are missing. It has a smooth surface with no visible damage or corrosion. The artefact has two long swept-back wings and is hollow in the centre. An early Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy disc brooch of a type referred to as 'jewelled' or 'keystone garnet'. The brooch is now corroded and the details are hard to see clearly. The edge of the brooch is smooth and undecorated creating a border 4.06mm wide. Next to the border is a narrow groove c.0.68mm wide followed by a band c.0.91mm wide. At the centre of the brooch is a raised field of 9.20mm diameter which is filled with white material. A Roman rim sherd from a ceramic mortarium. The fabric is a pale cream colour and the eleven surviving pieces of grit are black and angular. Weight 59.29g, thickness 6.35mm, the sherd is 83.85mm x 44.47mm. Use of a rim chart shows that the vessel would have had a diameter of 260mm and that 12.5% of the circumference of the vessel is represented by this sherd.
