An iron padlock complete with shackle. In Geoff Egan's opinion it is most likely to be of relatively recent date, probably 18th century or early 19th century. The padlock is an irregular cylinder, being shorter on the outer edge and longer on the inner edge. The maximum length is 105.55mm, minimum length 83.57mm, diameter of case minimum 34.07mm, maximum 40.03mm. The arm or shackle pivots from a sub-oval plate which has a thickness of 5.12mm, is 55.17mm long and 32.65mm wide. It has a 'C' shaped cross-section and a curved length of 226.0mm.
