A silver plated copper-alloy Roman coin, possibly a contemporary copy of a silver radiate of Valerian II (AD 256-8) (Reece Period 12), IOVI CRESCENTI, Jupiter riding right on goat. Prototype struck at Mint in Gaul. Cunetio p. 105, cf. no. 738 for possible type. This is a tentative identification. Obverse legend is illegible. Obverse shows an unclear bust right. Die axis is 6 o'clock. Weight is 1.4g, diameter is 19.8mm, thickness is 0.9mm. Only a very small fragment of silver plate remains on the reverse surface, this measures c. 1.9mm x 3.1mm.
