A complete cast copper-alloy winged chape of Rieth's Barriere (Indres) type dating from the Early Iron Age that is c. 800-600BC (Rieth 1942; Gerloff 2004, fig. 17.9.1). The chape is almost complete and in very good condition. Only the outer tips of the wings are missing. It has a smooth surface with no visible damage or corrosion. The artefact has two long swept-back wings and is hollow in the centre. A fragment of a cast copper-alloy winged chape, probably of Rieth's Barriere (Indres) type dating from the Early Iron Age, that is c. 800-600BC (Rieth 1942; Gerloff 2004, fig. 17.9.1). It weighs 6.55g and has a length of 32.0mm, maximum width of 18.0mm tapering to a minimum width of 9.7mm, and maximum thickness at the widest end of 6.3mm tapering to a maximum thickness at the minimum width of 3.9mm.
