The find consists of a rhomboidal fragment of strip of roughly rectangular section which has been cut at both ends. Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum identified the metal as brass, with no detectable precious metal. It is therefore not defined as Treasure under the terms of the Act.

A single sherd of ceramic prehistoric vessel found at the same location and just a few days after the two sherds recorded as record CAM-4F1413. It has not been possible to date the sherd more precisely than to say that it is likely to have been made between the Neolithic and Iron Age. Both of the sherds are formed of a ubiquitus flint gritted fabric and both are from hand made vessels. The sherd weighs 3.3g, length is 22.23mm, width is 20.06mm and thickness is 6.56mm. The ring is a very slightly irregular circle, and is circular in cross-section with slightly flattened upper and lower surface which might not be intentional but a result of wear or manufacture. A silver artefact, probably a cockspur, of (currently uncertain) date. The spur is a tapering bulbous cylinder in shape ending in a point. The open end has an edge that is set diagonal to the longitudinal line of the spur. This cockspur weighs 3.27g, has a length of 23.88mm and maximum diameter of 8.19mm. A single piece of secondary flint debitage of unknown date, probably late Neolithic to Bronze Age. A striking platform and point of percussion are visibly present on this flake. An incomplete gold dog brooch of uncertain date, possibly early Post-Medieval. This three dimensional brooch seems to have been hollow or at least the body was hollow. The dog is positioned left with the head turned forwards. One ear is missing however the ear nearest the tail survives in good condition.
