An Iron Age gold stater of Andoco. This is a British Eastern coin of the Trinovates, dating to c. 20 BC - AD 10. The reverse shows a horse right inscribed below: AND . The obverse shows a cross. Weight is 5.51g, diameter is 18.9mm. ABC (Rudd), p. 133, no. 2715; Hobbs, R. British Iron Age Coins In The British Museum 1996, p.135, pl.64, nos.2011-2014. Hobbs describes the coin as a Northern gold of Andoco.

Description: Tiny gold filigree-decorated mount in the shape of a bird, now slightly crushed but apparently never of very fine workmanship. The central area and gap are plugged with corrosion products which appear visually to be iron. These artefacts are normally dated to the late Bronze Age however this one might be transitional into the Iron Age if the corrosion product is indeed iron. This artefact weight 13.47g including the corrosion filled central area. The ring has a diameter of 19.2mm and thickness of 7.6mm. Description: Gold bulla pendant made from a single piece of gold sheet cut into two discs with a connecting strip 5.6mm wide. Each disc has been given a domed centre and a narrow flat border, and the strip has been bent to form a double-sided pendant with suspension loop. The borders of the two halves have been pressed and perhaps soldered together but there is no further decoration added to the edge. Roman gold finger-ring. The hoop consists of a flattened ribbed strip which expands to openwork triangular shoulders decorated with inturned peltas flanking a central serrated rib topped by a pellet. The shoulders support an oval box setting with remains of a pinkish coloured substance, probably adhesive for a gem which is now missing. The ring is rather squashed. Discussion: although no exact parallel can be cited, a similar ring with openwork shoulders was found at the Roman fort of Vechten in the Netherlands (Henkel 1913, no. 251). A gold decorative fragment. This fragment seems to probably be complete but it is uncertain what artefact type it would have originally have been attached to. This decorative fragment is of a slightly scrolled foliate design. The symmetrical item has a raised central rib that terminates in a spherical knop. Gold signet ring with octagonal bezel engraved with a lion rampant within a dotted border. The bezel oriented in the same direction as the loop, the back of the bezel with a maker's mark: the letter B (?) in a lozenge, this mark does not occur on any of the rings in the British Museum collections and we have not been able to identify it.
